There are only a few games available and you have to either buy them from microsoft itself or have the original xbox game disc for it. If you download it from microsoft then you have to install it to the hard drive, via buying it on xbox live with microsoft points.
Turn on the Xbox and go to the Dashboard. The console will start on the Dashboard if no game is inserted in the console. Select a game to download. Select the game title to open the download menu. Your account will be a Gold account for the first month after creation. This allows you to play games online. If you do not enter payment information, it will revert to a Silver account after the month is over.
If you're on the right profile, press the "Guide" button again to close the Xbox Guide window.
